Distributed, Real-Time Graph Visualization Tool

This Tool comes with a number of interface elements designed to make it usable as demonstration platform.

Client-pull a single data point: Forces the client to attempt to retrieve a single data point from the server.

Toggle automatic client-pull: The client will automatically start pulling data points at the specified rate, unless this feature is toggled off.

Toggle graph animation: The client will automatically start animating the graph, unless this feature is toggled off.

Toggle display of data points: The client will automatically display all visible data points, unless this feature is toggled off.

Toggle display of Bezier interpolations or straight lines: The client will automatically display interpolations using a Bezier curve, however this feature can be turned off and the tool will simply display straight lines instead.

Terminate server application (optional): The client will not automatically display this control, but this feature can be specified by specifying it in the applet controls.

Host machine of server: Name of the host machine where the data is coming from, limitations of the Java sandbox means that an applet can only communicate with the machine from which it originated.

Data source type: Type of data being received (e.g. Random, Sine Wave, Heartbeat, etc).

Data points (received/transmitted): Measure of the percentage reliability of the tool, if communication problems occur, the ratio of data points transmitted to received, will go down.

Client-pull (interval/window size): Representation of the specified delay between automatic client-pulls and the number of microseconds displayed in the visualization window.

Back end: Oracle 10g
