The application has following specifications:
Each EPOS shall be provided with a float and an option to enter opening cash float should provide in the system.
Before supervisor signs in the Cashier, the system should provide a print out of float money with the concerned EPOS (sign on slip). Closing balance of float in the last shift will automatically come as the opening balance of the next shift.
The cashier can have a physical verification of the float money with him before commencing the billing. Float may be maintained either in US Dollar alone or in different currencies.
Sign off slip in detailed format will be a CRS (Cash Reconciliation Statement). It is a detailed slip showing opening float (in multiple currency), receipts from the buyers in cards, Cash, TravelersCheque etc. closing float in multi-currency and if any excess / short in till.
Security at each level (Administrator, Supervisor, cashier etc.) should be provided.
After signing off, cashier is required to deposit the collection in to the bank counter either directly or through the main cashier. For this purpose the currency will have to be converted in to the base currency and a Bank Remittance Slip will have to be generated from the system. Since all the relevant data for remittance such as details of currency after retaining the float, exchange rate etc. are in the CRS, the same may be generated from the EPOS itself.
Sales Return Bill is required when goods are returned and this should be considered whole summing up the transactions. Further, sales bills also would have to be generated.
Duplicate Bill: Provision is required for supervisor to take print out of the duplicate bill of that shift before sign off, if some bills are lost / misplaced.
Single screen EPOS: Care must be made to ensure that all required fields for transacting sales are available in a single screen. The transaction speed is very critical in EPOS as Duty Free Sales are very heavily transacted within a limited time.
